AI-Powered Assistive Device for the Visually Impaired

- Building a live assistive navigation stack on a Jetson Orin Nano Super (JetPack 6.2.1) with an IMX219 CSI camera, YOLO-World open-vocab detection for doors and stairs, metric depth HUD, spoken TTS cues, and on-device TensorRT at about 13 FPS at 720p.
- Shipped V0.1 (capture, detect, overlay) and V0.2 (cue policy, non-blocking TTS, depth HUD, battery and power UI, FULL/LOW modes, boot autostart, INA219 telemetry).
- Owned hardware bring-up and edge software as captain and Jetson lead, including vest integration for wearable use.

Test Engineering Intern

- Operated, programmed, and repaired flying-probe and in-circuit test machines on PCBAs for a contract manufacturer serving defense and medical customers.
- Tuned flying-probe programs to eliminate false failures by isolating probe access, fiducials, and tolerances from real board faults.
- Worked ICT and bed-of-nails fixtures at the fixture and measurement-path level, and wrote production test procedures used on the floor.
- Developed test programs for a multi-type cable test fixture used to verify a range of cable assemblies.
- Built test cables, improved hand soldering, and configured rack-mounted test equipment and Windows test stations from legacy through current OS.
- Applied ITAR/EAR awareness in a controlled manufacturing environment, covered coworker customers during PTO, and maintained test throughput on a short-staffed floor.

Pittsburgh, family shop, and figuring things out
Edgeworth and McKeesport, PA
- Born and raised near Pittsburgh. A rare orthopedic condition, congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia, kept me out of contact sports. Computers, games, and personal projects became how I stayed independent.
- At home I was the person who fixed networks, set up devices, and kept family systems running.
- Long before the titled job at Barno Electronics, I helped at my grandmother's family business in McKeesport with warehouse work, labeling, parts sourcing, cameras, and network setup.
- Choir from 2015 onward. Spanish in grades 1 to 5 and Latin in grades 6 to 8.
